INTERNATIONAL

This was a marvelous conspiracy thriller. I was being reminded of The French Connection, Day of the Jackal and The Bourne films.

Then the movie made a decision to go for the teenage, video game, “let’s blow something up” demographic.

This excellent film made a stop at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and loss a great deal of its credibility in a totally silly shoot out that seemed more geared for a military film about the invasion of Normandy.

IT SEEMED TO WANT TO OUT DO THE LONG SHOOT OUTS IN HEAT, FOUR BROTHERS,
AND DEAD PRESIDENTS.

The fine acting of Clive Owen ( THE INSIDE MAN ), Naomi Watts, and Armin Mueller-Stahl
( BOTH EXCELLENT IN THE WONDERFUL, EASTERN PROMISES ) was almost wasted in the aftermath.

Aside from this violent detour, it was a good film.
