ACADEMY AWARDS 2010

What did you think about the 2010 Academy Awards?

I DIDN’T WATCH – I SAW A FEW AWARDS WHILE PASSING BY THE TV – NOTHING AGAINST THE AWARDS – I JUST DON’T GET EXCITED ABOUT THEM, BUT IN MY YOUNGER DAYS, I WOULD NOT SLEEP WITHOUT KNOWING THE WINNERS.

MONIQUE WAS IN THE CATEGORY WHERE SHE COULD NOT LOSE – WE WAS THE STAR OF “PRECIOUS,” NOT A SUPPORTING ACTRESS.
NOMINATING GABBY WAS AN HONOR, BUT SHE ACTUALLY DID VERY LITTLE ACTING – SHE REACTED IN HER SCENES – HER BODY FIT THE ROLE, SHE WAS NOT CALLED ON TO DO MUCH AND THAT IS NOT NEGATIVE – SHE MAY GO ON TO GREAT THINGS, BUT THEY WERE WISE TO CONSTRUCT HER ROLE SO THAT SHE DID NOT NEED TOO CARRY THE BALL TOO OFTEN OR TOO LONG –SHE IS NOT AN EXPERIENCE ACTRESS, BUT SHE WAS DIRECTED PERFECTLY BY LEE DANIELS.
SANDRA BULLOCK WON FOR HER BODY OF WORK, HER CAREER –NOT THIS PART IN “BLIND SIDE”– ANY ACTRESS IN THE WORLD COULD HAVE PLAYED THE PART SHE HAD –IT WAS REALLY JUST A WONDERFUL SET OF GREAT ONE-LINERS THAT IMPRESSED THE AUDIENCE.
JUST AS DENZEL DID NOT WIN FOR THE WORST MOVIE HE EVER MADE – “TRAINING
DAY” -- HE WON FOR “MALCOLM” – THEY OWED HIM AND REPAID HIM USING THAT PIECE OF CRAP AS THE VEHICLE TO DELIVER HIS TROPHY.
SANDRA DID NOT WIN FOR THIS FILM AND THAT IS
FAIR AND FITTING – WHEN THEY ( THE HOLLYWOOD FILM INDUSTRY) LOOK UP AND SEE THAT SOMEONE IS OVERDUE TO WIN, IT IS FINE, IN MY OPINION, TO MAKE YOUNGER FOLKS WAIT AND DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE THE TALENT AND ARE NOT “ONE HIT WONDERS.”
THE GERMAN ACTOR, CHRISTOPH WALTZ IN THE ROLE OF COLONEL HANS LANDA HAD THE BEST ROLE OF THE YEAR AND THE FIRST 25 MINUTES OF INGLOURIOUS WAS JUST TREMENDOUS – HE CARRIED THE WHOLE THING AND WON THE AWARD FOR THOSE 25 MINUTES. HE TORTURED THE AUDIENCE AND THE CHARACTERS WITH HIS CONVERSATION IN THAT OPENING SCENE.
I DID NOT SEE THE HURT LOCKER –BUT EVERYONE LOVED IT AND I HAVE TO FEEL THEY ARE RIGHT – I HAVE NOT SEEN AVATAR AND ONLY SAW PART OF
DISTRICT NINE, WHICH FOLKS ALSO LOVE.
THE ANIMATED FILM “UP” WAS REALLY GREAT AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE WINNER AND I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED - NO ONE SHOULD MISS “UP” -- IT REALLY SHOWS LIFE AND DEATH BETTER THAN ANY FILM I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS
