DATE NIGHT

“Date Night” is okay. Once again, as with “Bounty Hunter,” the movie is competent, but nothing special.
Everything is pleasant and watchable. Nothing will turn you off, unfortunately, nothing will really turn you on.
I find it difficult to say anything very cogent or poignant about this film. It is pleasant enough, but not something you will rush home to tell folks about.
If you are a fan of “The Office,” you will enjoy seeing Steve Carell and if you like Tina Fey, she will have a great deal of screen time to amuse you. The supporting cast of Mark Wahlberg, Common, Taraji P. Henson, and Ray Liotta do a solid job.
James Franco and Mila Kunis ( she is the voice of daughter MEG, on the animated Family Guy television show) steal the show as two wacko drug addicts who are madly in love, even if spaced out most of the time.
If you don’t go looking for the best comedy you ever saw, there are enough good moments in this movie to amuse you. I guess the rule is – every movie can’t be special or there would be no special movies.
