PRINCE OF PERSIA

The most amazing thing about “Prince of Persia” was that, in the midst of one of the biggest action movies of all time, there is great acting. When a film is centered around almost nonstop chaos and mayhem, you assume acting will take a back seat.
I have to mention the cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Ronald Pickup, Steve Toussaint, Richard Coyle and the lone female character in the story, Gemma Arterton.
This film wore me out with all the action and adventure anyone needs for a year or two. How director, Mike Newell found time to present these excellent actors delivering their lines, is a mystery to me: no one in this story was standing still for very long.
The story is well developed and had enough intrigue to make a good mystery without all the blood and guts.
I am taking off a point for the extended length of the film and overindulgence of violence.
This a film that needs to be seen on the big theater screen.
