BLACK SWAN

In 1965, Roman Polansk directed - "REPULSION."
"The BLACK SWAN" is basically the same theme, with the 2010 plot focused on the pressure of high level ballet dancing.
This is a superior film, but it is not a likable film; it is not a film that we feel better for having experienced. The acting is first rate, especially Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel, the direction is excellent; but the film disturbs us. There is no sense of satisfaction at the conclusion. That is a viewer problem, it does not diminish the grandeur of this film.
Films do not have to please us, just as good medicine does not have to be sweet.
You won't enjoy it, but you should see it.
Adults only - leave the kids at home until they are in their early thirties.
