RED RIDING HOOD

"Red Riding Hood" is a movie that does not know what it wants to be about.
It is a horror story without much horror,
a love story, with lukewarm romantic intensity,
a mystery that is not very mysterious.

The werewolf is odd; in the middle of a killing rampage, the breast stops to make a romantic date with one of his potential victims, a scene that reminds me of something Woodie Allen might do, then returns to the mayhem of attacking the village.

The main character, Valerie ( Red Riding Hood ), has a problem, two wonderful boyfriends from which to select a husband. We really can't get too involved in this dilemma, she can't go wrong with either fellow.
The movie is obviously trying to cash in on the current romantic vampire craze, without the vampire.
Very nice sets and it is not a good sign when the sets are the highlight of a movie.
JULIE CHRISTIE HAS THE ROLE OF THE GRANDMOTHER AND SHE IS ALWAYS GOOD.
TRY TO SEE THIS LADY IN "FAR FROM HER," A REALLY FINE MOVIE ABOUT
ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE.
VIRGINIA MADSEN IS THE MOTHER AND SHE IS STILL ATTRACTIVE, AS SHE
GETS UP IN YEARS -BUT I NOTICE IN DURING SOME RESEARCH, SHE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A REALLY TOP NOTCH MOVIE, EXCEPT "SIDEWAYS."
