WATER FOR ELEPHANTS

"Water for Elephants" is a romantic tale. It is old school, no vampires, computer generated demons, zombies or talking lizards.
It is romance and if you do not want to see the nightmare moments that always accompanies a romantic escapade, don't see this film.
There is cruelty, pain, suffering, insanity and murder mixed in with moments of compassion and passion.
The best and worst of human nature is found in this story.
If Academy Award winner, Christoph Waltz is in a film, go see the film - that is a rule. I don't know what more you could want for your money than what is given you in this tale of circus life and life in general.
Resse Witherspoon is a favorite of mine, but she was close to being too old for the role, but she got in under the wire.
Robert Pattinson is always rated by his vampire role in TWILIGHT, I liked him as a vampire and there is nothing wrong about his low keyed style in this film.
HAL HOLBROOK is an old master actor and he is a pleasure to see as the story teller for this saga of life in the depression era circus world.
I have to give a special salute to Irish born actor, JIM NORTON in the role of Camel - the man who knows everything there is to know about the circus and each and every person on the
circus grounds. He is worth the price of admission and his time on the screen was precious to
me - he was truly his character and I wanted to talk to his character, he was so real.

THIS FILM IS, IN MY MIND, PART OF A TRILOGY -IT IS A COMPANION PIECE TO
TWO OTHER GREAT FILMS, WHICH SEEM TO BE MADE BY THE SAME FOLKS.
THE WONDERFUL - BIG FISH AND THE WONDERFUL, SECONDHAND LIONS.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THESE TWO GRAND MASTERPIECES, THERE IS LITTLE REASON FOR YOU TO CONTINUE READING AT THIS SITE, WE ARE NOT ON THE SAME TRACK
AND READING MY OPINIONS MUST BE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME.
