This is a difficult film to review: it is well made, but it troubles me. The plot seemed patched together from about five earlier science fiction stories.
I was constantly telling myself, "this is the scene from "Independence Day" or from "E.T." or "Close Encounters."
The actors did a great job and they were actually young and not the near 21 year olds who often appear as kids in movies.
I saw some good things in the film, but little that I had not seen before and I would be quite able to wait for the film to reach television.
The highlight of the movie was the theme of sweet and innocent romance between Elle Fanning ( DAKOTA'S YOUNGER SISTER ) and Joel Courtney. They produced the only original and compelling spark in this film.
