STREET KINGS

The director of this film, wrote, "Training Day." by my calculation, he should
still be in prison for that piece of trash. "Training Day," is on my bottom ten
list of the worst films in the history of motion pictures.

The writer of this film was the author of "L.A. Confidential" - he could have an
Academy Award on his mantel for that fine film.

It seems like most critics have the knife out for this film. I don't know why
-- it is a companion piece to
"L.A. Confidential" -- it is another incarnation of the Bud White character,
played so well by Russell Crowe in the earlier film.

Keanu Reeves is fine in the role, but a lot of people are Keanu haters and would
not like him if he was playing the role of Keanu Reeves in his own biographical
film.

This is a modern day cowboy film and I like cowboy movies. The good guys wipe
out the bad guys.

Street Kings is such a film -- only, the good guys are not really that good,
they are just slightly better than the bad guys.

If you like action and characters walking a fine line between glory and certain,
ignominious death - Street Kings is for you.

If you don't want to see violence and sadistic behavior, avoid this film like
the plague.

Except for one very silly plot device to get Keanu to the scene of a liquor
store robbery, I found the
story to be solid and fast paced.

Naomie Harris is just good to look at -- I can't tell you much about her acting,
I just know it was a pleasure to look at her while she was on the silver screen
-- I image she had some lines, I was not listening, just looking and saying to
myself -- is this a great country or what?

It was good to see Jay Mohr in a serious role, I always thought he was a
talented actor.
Forest Whitaker is Forest Whitaker, he will always take care of his business.
Hugh Laurie,"House," on television, does a good job of confusing us about where
he stands on honestly upholding the law .

There is an element of "Crash' in this film and that is a good thing.
If you like adventure, action and a little detective work mixed in -- Street
Kings a good flick - not a great flick, but good enough to satisfy your need for
a wild ride on a fast track.
