THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE MOVIE. IT STARTS OFF WITH HIGH DRAMA, BRUTALLY FRANK DIALOGUE AND A UNIVERSAL THEME OF CONCERN FOR ABUSED CHILDREN.
THE STAGE IS SET FOR A GREAT FILM - ALL THE ELEMENTS ARE
IN PLACE, DRUGS, ROMANCE, LOYALTY, VILLAINS, DEDICATION, MYSTERY, ETC.
THE PROBLEM WAS, THE MOVIE HAD TO HAVE A SECOND HALF. THEY COULD NOT STOP THE PROJECTOR AND EMPTY THE THEATER BEFORE IT ALL BROKE DOWN AND SANK INTO SILLINESS.
I CAN FORGIVE A HOLE IN THE PLOT, IF IT HELPS MOVE THE STORY ALONG, BUT THIS WAS A GRAND CANYON SIZE GAP OF ILLOGICAL EVENTS.
WHEN YOU GET HOME AND THINK BACK ON THIS FILM, YOU REALLY SEE THAT THE EMPEROR HAD NO CLOTHES. THE ACTIONS OF THE CHARACTERS MAKES LITTLE SENSE.
THE WRITERS SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR MAKING THE ACTORS LOOK FOOLISH.

RECENTLY, WARREN J. HALLIBURTON, ONE OF MY FORMER TEACHERS AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL #35 IN BROOKLYN AND AN INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN AUTHOR AND EDITOR ( GOOGLE HIM, IF YOU HAVE THE SPACE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE ), MENTIONED THAT I DON'T EXPLAIN OR DEFEND MY OPINIONS.
I AGREED WITH THAT OBSERVATION, BUT TOLD HIM THAT IS WHY I CALL THESE REACTIONS AND NOT REVIEWS. I FEEL THAT I HAVE THE FREEDOM TO JUST SAY I DIDN'T LIKE SOMETHING, WITHOUT GIVING THE HISTORY OF WHY I REACHED THAT CONCLUSION.
I CAN RANT WITHOUT NEEDING LOGIC, FACTS OR FOUNDATION.
A REVIEW WOULD NEED MORE FAIRNESS. A REACTION, IN MY WORLD, IS FREE TO RUN WILD AND BURN ALL THINGS IN ITS PATH, IF THEY NEED BURNING.
I ALSO KNOW THAT ANYONE WHO GOES SOLELY BY MY MUSINGS,IS IN TROUBLE FROM THE START - AS WITH THE SELECTION OF A SURGEON, YOU ARE BETTER OFF GETTING A SECOND OPINION.
WARREN HAS YET TO REPLY, IF HE FINDS MY WORDS WORTHY OF A REPLY.

I wasn't crazy about the end of the movie - I thought it was too much. I've never read the book it's based on though - do you know if it's the same way or if that was written into the script? I did think Casey Affleck was awesome.
