You have all the right ingredients, but the cake does not turn out well.
Your suit is made of the finest material, but it does not fit properly.
"Tropic Thunder," has a fine idea for a movie and it has a good cast. That is pretty much the end of the good news. The movie is 107 minutes long; a good editor could find seven or eight excellent minutes of film in this mess - the rest of the time you just sit there wondering why you purchased a ticket.

This sorry film has one outstanding element – some of the best on screen explosions of any film I ever saw and that covers a lot of ground. If you only want spectacular pyrotechnics, this is the film for you.
