"Milk" came close to being a great film, it ended up being a very good film and that is not too shabby.
The movie gets caught up in small details and tells us more than we want or need to know about minor points.
There is an epilogue, but much of the material mentioned in the summary, could have been shown on screen, if the film did not repeat itself with street demonstrations and celebrations.
The cast is super, they bring the characters to life and this helps viewers follow the story line.
While Mickey Rourke was tremendous in "The Wrestler," Sean Penn is outstanding as the title character in "Milk" and deserves his Oscar.
The sexual content is prominent, but not sensationalized.
