AMERICAN REUNION

I never saw the original "American Pie" movie, but it was very easy to read the personality of the characters as soon as they appeared on screen in this sequel. This is far from a great film or a very creative production, but given it's faults, I enjoyed a decent amount of the movie. Nothing in the plot requires a high school diploma to understand, yet this film did present several grand themes: lost love - missed opportunities - loyalty - dealing with the death of a loved one - keeping a marriage vibrant.  I can forgive the gross, childish humor, because the cast was able to generate enough heartfelt moments to lift this story out of the gutter and give us some moments worthy of our attention.
