If you review "Battleship" on its merits as a film, the ship will quickly sink below the surface of the ocean. This is very far from a good motion picture. I watched a movie that was pretty bad, but yet, the patriotic themes and the fact that the characters were all good people worked in the movie's favor.
The use of a veteran, actually wounded in combat, as a featured character and the inclusion of real sailors who saw action in naval battles, elevates this production to a higher level than the story itself could achieve.
Even with the "feel good" element, I can't recommend you pay to see this film.
