IN 1980, "MY BODYGUARD," WAS RELEASED. "DRILLBIT TAYLOR" IS A COUSIN OF THAT VERY MEMORABLE FILM. THIS VERSION IS MORE LIGHT-HEARTED, BUT
THE PROBLEM OF BULLYING IN SCHOOL AUTOMATICALLY CARRIES WITH IT A COMPELLING SERIOUSNESS. THIS FILM IS VERY WELL CAST -- THESE ACTORS ALL SEEM AT EASE IN THEIR ROLES AND THAT MAKES THE STORY WORK.
OWEN WILSON IS BEST WHEN HE DOES NOT HAVE TO CARRY A FILM AND HERE HE IS
RELIEVED OF THAT TASK.
ALEX FROST IS A REAL PSYCHO AS THE MAIN BULLY.
IT WAS A NICE TOUCH TO HAVE ADAM BALDWIN, THE ORIGINAL BODYGUARD, MAKE A CAMEO APPEARANCE.
THIS IS NOT A GREAT MOVIE, BUT IT IS VERY ENJOYABLE.
