I once stated that I give a Clint Eastwood film four stars before I reach the theater. I have to retract that statement after seeing "J. Edgar."
This film is confused, it is not a documentary and it is not a melodrama. This is not even
a good television soap opera. The costumes and the techniques used to allow
Leonardo DiCaprio to portray Hoover from a teenager to an old man are
the best elements of this very long movie. If this film can hold your interest,
it does not speak well for the life you are leading.

It is difficult for me to knock an Eastwood film, but even Babe Ruth had his bad days.
I really can't imagine anyone being pleased that they paid to see this film.
